My husband and I are coming upon 25 years of marriage. As we plan our reception of celebration, we remember there is a lot packed into our years together. Any of you married couples out there, that have been married for any length of time, knows that there are best times, worst times and various seasons in between.
My love and I agree that we have lived through some very difficult storms in our marriage. Some have been out of our control, while others have been our own doing. We also share many beautiful moments together. Things that have took and still take hard work on our part and other moments where we are captivated by the wonder of how two broken people can be a part of a structure that can't be easily broken.....love.
We did not take this 25 year journey alone, that is for sure. As we go through old photos, we realize it has happened with the hope of something greater than ourselves and with a community of others that have journeyed this road with us. There is a structure and foundation that have weathered many storms and took the weight of life's evolving changes. The greatest reminder I have reflected out of the preparation of our reception is that....strong community of sojourners matters. We are never meant to do this life alone. My heart is full of gratitude of knowing that we have had others be present with us in our places and space of our story.
